Carnival Results

The Little Athletics NSW website includes a comprehensive coverage of results from numerous carnivals over the last couple of years and can be accessed here.

We will endeavour to highlight results specific to our Centre arising from these Carnivals in recognition of the tremendous effort put in by each of our athletes.

Recording individual athlete results

At registration, each athlete will be provided with a record book. All results from centre running days are recorded on the centre's computer system and a results ticket sheet printed and returned to each athlete at the following running day. The results book is for pasting in the results tickets issued for each attempted event, each week. The athlete will be able to record a complete history of their performance during the season.

Athletes are also able to record their own results on the Australian Little Athletics website at www.me. Upon entering your weekly results you can see graphs of your season performance and also print out your own certificates when you achieve a personal best.

Personal Improvement Point Score

A point score system is used to encourage athletes to improve on their own performance, rather than against each other. The greater the improvement for a particular event, the greater the number of points awarded. Points are also awarded for attendance and participation in each event. Attaining a personal best result for any event will attain more points for the athlete than being the winner of the event.

Actual point calculations and running totals are calculated by and maintained on the WHLAC computer system and are not available to parents or the athletes themselves.

2008 Trans Tasman Challenge

Our 14 athletes have now returned from New Zealand having achieved both individual and team success in the Challenge Cup with numerous medals for individual and relay events as well as NSW retaining the Cup. Congratulations to all of the following athletes for their efforts in New Zealand.

2007 State Relays

Congratulations to all our athletes who participated at the LAANSW State Relays carnival on 24 and 25 November. The weather offered up its own challenges, with drizzle coming and going for much of Saturday, setting up a hot and steamy day on Sunday.

As always, this was a most colourful and exciting carnival at which Winston Hills athletes achieved many outstanding results. Winston Hills teams achieved 10 medal winning performances and 18 additional top 8 finishes. The medal count comprised 5 gold, 2 silver & 3 bronze medals. The spread of the medals was across all the disciplines with 4 in throws, 1 in jumps & 5 in track. See the top 8 results below or download the full set of results from the LAANSW website.

Competition was very hot across the two days, not the least in the U12 Girls Discus where the State Record was broken three times during the event, including once by our own Taylah Sengul.

Thank you also to our parent helpers who assisted in the marshalling tent. You had a good view of all that was going on and hopefully weren’t too challenged by your duties.

And finally thanks to all parents and families who were out there supporting our athletes. You could always tell when a Winston Hills team was in action as the decibels in the grandstand went up considerably each time.
